The Clackamas Career Hub, a platform created by Clackamas Education Service District to connect Clackamas County educators, students and local employers in meaningful, career-connected learning experiences, has expanded regionwide and launched a new dynamic and intuitive online portal under a new name: the Northwest Connect Career Hub.
Developed through a partnership between Clackamas ESD, Clackamas Technical Education Consortium, South Metro-Salem STEM Partnership, Clackamas Workforce Partnership and Clackamas Community College, the new Northwest Connect Career Hub is a free, easy-to-use online tool strengthening the bridge between education and the regional economy. Instead of searching for contacts on their own, educators can easily find guest speakers, job shadows, internships and more for students, while employers can showcase their industries, give back to the community and help shape the future workforce.
Northwest Connect Career Hub’s new online portal offers a more interactive and user-friendly experience, allowing educators and businesses to create profiles, manage work-based learning opportunities, connect with advisory committees, share leadership opportunities and explore CTE-related events through a centralized calendar.
In its first months, the original Clackamas Career Hub connected 40 industry partners with 41 educators from nine of the 10 public school districts in Clackamas County. The new Northwest Connect Career Hub now connects schools and employers across all of Oregon and Southwest Washington, bringing real-world experiences into the classroom and making career learning more engaging and relevant.
“This platform makes it easier than ever for schools and local businesses to connect,” said Bill Blevins, CTE Regional Coordinator at Clackamas ESD. “When industry professionals open their doors, whether through classroom visits or internships, students get to see real careers in action, and that can be life-changing.”
Educators can access the Northwest Connect Career Hub at nwconnecthub.com by creating a free account to start connecting their students to real-world learning opportunities. Employers can visit nwconnecthub.com to join the directory and share their expertise with the next generation of Oregon’s workforce.
