AI Integration and Digital Innovation
Clackamas ESD is deeply committed to supporting our partner districts in the ethical, equitable and effective integration of artificial intelligence, with a focus on reducing educator workload, fostering well-being and driving student success. Our strategic focus is twofold:
- Empowering educators by enhancing efficiency and reducing workload burdens through digital and AI tools, and
- Ensuring all students gain the necessary AI literacy skills and access to personalized learning experiences
We accomplish this by providing direct professional learning, dedicated specialist support and comprehensive resource development, and fostering regional collaboration through networks designed to help leaders navigate policy, privacy and instructional integration.
Strategic leadership workshops
We guide districts in establishing an AI foundation, assessing readiness and drafting human-centered AI guidance.
Regional professional learning and collaboration
We bring together educators and district technology and learning leaders through the Regional AI Educator Network (RAIN) and other learning communities to deepen AI literacy, explore ethical implementation and collaborate on emerging topics like digital equity. In partnership with Multnomah ESD, Northwest Regional ESD, and the University of Portland, we also help lead the annual AI Empowered EDU Conference, an event that explores the impact of artificial intelligence in education through presentations and hands-on workshops
Productivity and teaching training
We offer K-12 educators and staff practical training in digital tools and AI applications, focusing on leveraging tools for tasks such as lesson planning and communication. AI support focuses on ethical considerations, practical uses and integration into pedagogy and curriculum design.
AI tool vetting support
We assist districts in evaluating AI tools based on pedagogy, privacy and equity.
