Education Support

C-TEC Youth Services can help you finish your basic education and figure out what to do next. We’ll assist you with your high school education, GED testing, alternative school, and even college. Getting an education is an important step toward a successful future. Whether you have dropped out of high school or ready to take the next step towards college, we can help!

C-TEC Youth Services partners with high schools throughout Clackamas County. If you’re ready to tackle high school completion in Clackamas County, we’re ready to help. By working with the schools, we make it easy for you to access our services. Our Career Advisors are familiar with the requirements of each high school and they work closely with school counselors and staff to help you succeed.

C-TEC  Youth Services can help you:

  • Meet graduation requirements so you can complete high school
  • Access tutoring and credit recovery options
  • Make sure Individual Education Plan (IEP) needs are met
  • Create a plan for after high school
  • Attend summer school
  • Gain Advanced College Credits (ACC)
  • Necessities to enable you to attend such as transportation or childcare assistance

Alternative School

C-TEC Youth Services understands that the traditional high school setting is not a fit for every student. Our Career Advisors work closely with the alternative education programs that are available throughout Clackamas county.  A C-TEC Career Advisor can help you decide if an alternative school education may meet your needs, and if so, work with the school to get you started.

C-TEC Youth Services can help you:

  • Determine if an alternative school is a good fit
  • Find an alternative school that meets your needs and help you enroll
  • Transfer your current high school credits to your new school
  • Access Advanced College Credits (ACC)
  • Necessities to enable you to attend such as transportation or childcare assistance

GED

Obtaining a GED may be a good option for you.  C-TEC Youth Services has Career Advisors that can help you decide whether a GED will meet your needs.  Our Career Advisors are knowledgeable about GED options and have relationships with GED preparation programs throughout Clackamas County.

C-TEC Youth Services can:

  • Help you obtain the necessary information to decide if a GED is a good fit for you
  • Provide information about GED eligibility requirements
  • Explore GED preparation options and enroll in classes
  • Assist with transportation and/or childcare
  • Access GED pretests to determine if you’re ready for the official exams
  • May be able to assist with the cost associated with GED preparation classes and testing

Continuing Education

Do you want to go to college, but don’t know where to start? Are you the first in your family to go to college? We can help!

Our Career Advisors have many years of experience with helping youth enter college and succeed.  We can help you through the application and financial aid process, register for classes, and learn how to be a successful college student.

Getting a post-secondary education is an important step towards earning more money in the future. According to the New York Times, college graduates make 98% more money each year than those without a degree. Going to college really does pay off!

C-TEC Youth Services can help you:

  • Access the ACT or SAT tests
  • Apply for college
  • Apply for Financial Aid
  • Understand how the Financial Aid process works
  • Apply for an Individual Development Account (IDA)- get free money for college!
  • Learn about Career Pathway Certificates at Clackamas Community College
  • Register for classes
  • Take to college placement tests
  • Create a transportation plan
  • Secure childcare or other necessities to enable you to attend

FAFSA: This should be the first site to visit when preparing for college. It will help to establish eligibility for federal student aid.

OSAC: The state of Oregon’s official website for student financial aid, grants, and scholarship opportunities administered by the Oregon Student Assistance Commission.

College Board: Resources to help you plan for college.
