We’re excited to share news about four important Clackamas ESD leadership roles that will shift July 1:

Jeremy Pietzold will become chief information officer, a position he’s held on an interim basis for the past several months. Jeremy has been with Clackamas ESD for more than 20 years, and has been assistant director of technology and data center services since 2016. Jeremy has done an outstanding job serving as our interim CIO, and we’re thrilled he’s agreed to take on this new long-term leadership role.

Chelsi Reno will join Clackamas ESD as our new chief human resources officer. Chelsi comes to us from the North Clackamas School District, where she has served as associate director of human resources since 2015. Previously, she spent six years as human resources director for the Lincoln County School District. We are so grateful to find a leader of Chelsi’s caliber to succeed Jeff Fish, who is moving on to a human resources leadership role in the Vancouver School District this summer.

Sara Snow is being promoted to director of early intervention/early childhood special education, and will join the superintendent’s cabinet in that role. Sara came to Clackamas ESD in 2018, and has been leading our EI/ECSE teams since 2020. We are delighted to acknowledge her exceptional oversight of our programs that support young children who exhibit delays or disabilities that affect learning.

Angie Kautz will become assistant director of student services. Angie joined Clackamas ESD in 2019 as our student success leader, and has provided essential support in implementing the Student Success Act and helping our partner districts maneuver through a pandemic. Under her leadership, we’ve built a true student support team that is helping districts manage a range of challenges, from strengthening student mental health to gathering and analyzing data to make evidence-based decisions.

The Clackamas ESD teaching and learning team is pleased to announce two new hires who will join us when we return for the 2022-23 school year, and advance our ability to support districts with training and community engagement:

Hoa Nguyen will become our new student and community engagement specialist. Most recently, she has worked for Portland Public Schools as a school attendance coach, and previously she also served as a SUN Community School coordinator. Hoa is a member of the David Douglas School District Board, and is bilingual in Vietnamese and English.

Elaine Morelock will become our new paraprofessional training coordinator. Most recently, she served as a teacher on special assignment for equity and community engagement in Oregon City. This is a return to Clackamas ESD for Elaine, who previously worked here as an English learning program consultant. Her perspective and experience will be incredible assets in providing high-quality professional learning on culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices for paraprofessionals throughout Clackamas County. Elaine is trilingual in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
